TALES FROM THE GREYLANDS

A POST- APOCALYPTIC SURREALIST WESTERN

In a dystopian world that has lost the ability to dream, a new method of dreaming has arisen. Out in the Wastelands, in the back room of seedy hotel bar The Hyacinth Girl, the scheming Colonel Phlebus offers a passage back into the dreaming - a world known as The Greylands. Through the services of his mysterious creature, The Golden Cupidon, one can re-enter their subconscious and experience visions unknown to the modern world… for a price.

Meanwhile, the bar’s waitress, Marie, has discovered a way to hack into The Golden Cupidon’s dream world and begins to unravel the grander mysteries of the enigmatic dream weaver, the dreamscape, and the nature of reality. But outside the magic and whimsy of her dreams, a darkness lurks and deviously plots the undoing of the very fabric of reality as we know it.

A string of peculiar and shady patrons arrive at the bar, all with their own plans for the dream world and the mysteries surrounding it. Inside The Greylands, a race begins between the forces of good and evil. Hope and doom hang in the balance.

THE VISION

The vision of Tales from the Greylands is to bring to life a collaborative project that showcases works of the many artistic folks in our community. Through a series of evolving ideas, that project has manifested in a bizarre and fantastical post-apocalyptic surrealist western film. Our goal in making this film is to build and maintain a type of “creative playground” to feed and support each other's interests, inspire others, and grow our skills. From music, to acting, to costume design, to practical effects, to cinematography, to storytelling; we aim to make something bigger than the sum of its parts.
